The COO asked Sullivan Walsh Associates to bring about needed improvements in Voith Hydro's York, PA plant. Voith Hydro built and machined 80-ton hydro turbines. After analyzing the plant's performance, we worked with management and the Machinist's Union to create a shared vision of plant success, to upgrade role definitions in manufacturing, to introduce "team" compensation, and to implement new training procedures. Voith Hydro experienced dramatic improvements in productivity, customer response-time, and quality worth over $20 million. The Governor of Pennsylvania and Voith Hydro's board of directors officially recognized the plant for its excellence in achieving results through Union and management cooperation.
