The Vice President of Human Resources hired Sullivan Walsh Associates to improve the performance of Raytheon's Advanced Device Center (ADC) in Andover, Massachusetts. Raytheon faced three major challenges: changing the labor contract so ADC could be treated separately from other production facilities, improving productivity substantially, and making ADC employees skilled across multiple functions. We mediated the labor agreement between Raytheon and the IBEW on issues pertaining to ADC. Following labor negotiations, we redesigned the flow of work at ADC. In the first year after labor negotiations, ADC's productivity improved by over 40%. The project was a winner for the company and for the IBEW.
